According to Ayurveda, yoga’s ancient sister-science, our physical health and our emotional well-being are the end result of what we consume, and how we digest it.
Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health that is designed to help people live long, healthy, and well-balanced lives. The term Ayurveda is taken from the Sanskrit words ayus, meaning life or lifespan, and veda, meaning knowledge. The basic principle of Ayurveda is to prevent and treat illness by maintaining balance in the body, mind, and consciousness through proper diet and lifestyle, including yoga and meditation.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll learn how to identify our unique constitution (dosha), which helps us understand how our body, mind and spirit respond to diet, lifestyle, relationships, aging; even changing seasons and time of day. Together, yoga and Ayurveda give us a road map for understanding ourselves, empowering us to make healthy changes that can last a lifetime.
This workshop is a great way to start the New Year! Lighten your toxic load from the holidays and resolve to live a healthy, happy, balanced life with yoga and Ayurveda. Everyone is welcome! Come in comfortable street clothes; asana will not be practiced.
